Tent Camping Packing List

Camping is our favorite vacation. The fresh air, exploring nature, the peaceful sounds. While it is our go to vacation, it doesn’t come with the most easy prep and packing. I am always writing a list and wracking my brain every time for what we need to bring. This time I figured I would create this full list and printable PDF to use each time. Then I though why don’t I save everyone some time and share my Tent Camping Packing list.

The Campsite

First up on the tent camping packing list is the site itself. Your little plot away from home. Here are the things you will need to set up

• Tent/stakes
• Tarp
• Campfire Chairs
• Sleeping mats
• Sleeping bags
• Pillows
• Lantern and Fuel
• Clothes Line Cord
• Sunshade/Screenhouse
• Tablecloth and Clips
• Firewood (sourced near campsite)

Optional Items include…

• Dog Gear (Food, leash, lead, bowls, license, collar, tags, rabies shot papers)
• Games and toys
• Bikes
• Binoculars
• Books/Reading material
• Hammock
• Toddler/Baby hiking carrier
• Hiking backpack

Tools for the Campsite

• Multiuse tool/Leatherman
• Duct Tape
• Cord
• Mallet
• Axe/hatchet
• Saw
• Small broom and dust pan
• Flashlights/Headlamp
• small shovel

Camp Kitchen

Cooking outside is so much fun. Everything smells better mixed in the fresh forest air. Here is all you will need to make your kitchen complete besides your food.

• Stove/Fuel
• Matches/Lighter
• Pots
• Fry Pans
• Spoon, fork, Knives for everyone in party
• Sharp knife
• Plates/Bowls
• Waterbottles
• Mugs/Cups
• Can opener
• Spatula
• Serving spoon
• Cutting board
• Cooler
• Foil/Plastic wrap/food storage
• wash basin/camp sink
• Sponges
• Biodegradable soap
• Dish towels
• Large water dispenser(very helpful if there is no running water at the site)
• Trash bags

Optional for the kitchen…

• Portable coffee maker (good ole cowboy coffee works too)
• Skewers for campfire cooking

Clothes for Camping

Use common sense depending on the season you are camping, but here are a few things you wont want to forget

• Bathing suits

• Socks
• Underwear
• Pajamas

Health and Beauty for Camping

• First Aid kit
• Medications (prescription and OTC)
• Toilet Paper
• Hand sanitizer
• Tooth brush/Paste
• Shampoo and Conditioner (if there is showers)
• Towels (bath and swimming) We love these quick dry ones
• Menstrual Products
• Diapers/Wipes
• Bug Spray
• Sunblock
• Glasses/Contacts
• Brush/Comb
