I am writing this blog for myself. After some health issues the last few months, I am in need of some tips to drink more water. Being a mom is busy work, work that can side track you from your thirst 18 million times a day. If I drank half the cups of water I filled I would not need this reminder.
Did you know drinking water is one of the most important things you can do with your day? Your body is made up of 70% water. That is like almost all of it! Just drinking enough water can change your life drastically. decrease headaches, increase energy, increased metabolism for weight loss. water is literally life! But it can get hard to remember, it can be hard to get past the not so tasty taste, so here are some tips to make sure all your little cells are plump and happy!
Set a Realistic Goal
Did you know Tom Brady drinks almost 2.5 gallons of water everyday? That is mind boggling to me. So he is probably sweating most of that out, but I can’t help but imagine what that would feel like for me. Drowning, I think it would feel like drowning.
For me and you, normal people, the minimum should be half of your weight in oz. For example, if you are 140lbs, you would need to drink 70oz or about 9 cups of water. There was go, that is much more realistic.
Listen, I am one for pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and aiming high for your dreams and goals, but drinking enough water doesn’t have to be a chore. Aim high, but be realistic.
Measure It Out
You got your number, now get yourself a vessel and measure it out. Having that visual will help keep you on track. It is best to drink throughout the day, not down 3 cups at a time. Let your body slowly process the water for the most benefit.

Set Reminders
Still find yourself not seeing that pitcher or water bottle even though it is in plain sight. I am there with you. Remember how many cups I fill and don’t drink? So set some reminders on your phone to go off every hour or whatever you choose. STOP!! don’t get sidetracked and sip.
Make Water Interesting
I love water. Most days it is all I drink and I am happy with it. But I know that is not the case for a lot of people. The taste of water, if there is one, can be off putting. So spice it up! Use different fruits and infuse overnight. This 32oz OMorc bottle from makes it easier!
